A very important item to have in any kitchen. Fresh ground pepper adds amazing flavor, fragrance and a bit of spice to any dish, versus the ground black pepper you buy at the store in a package. There are a few varieties of peppercorns you can purchase for your grinder; I prefer a colorful medley for an expanded taste and eye appeal — it also looks very nice inside a clear grinder like the one pictured to the right. A word of caution when cooking with fresh ground pepper, it is quite strong, so start by using a little, then working your way up because it can easily overpower a dish.
